About the project

Emphasizing the importance of life-long learning and the improving the educational system in EU directives the aim of current project is to distinguish possible teaching behaviors that would lead to acquisition of learning competences and volition to learn at school. The theoretical background of the project “Towards effective teaching: Dynamic interaction between teachers’ instructional behavior and students’ basic psychological needs satisfaction (DoIT)” (Financial support of the Lithuanian Research Council, Nr. MIP – 15571) is Self-determination theory therefore its goal is to analyze the mechanisms of satisfying basic psychological needs for autonomy, competence, and relatedness in educational setting. The results of the current project should help to prepare recommendations for teachers about the needs’ satisfying teaching behaviors that would lead to better adjustment at school and positive academic outcomes.
